The official website for the upcoming anime sequel, Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED Freedom, has announced additional cast members for the film set to premiere in Japanese theaters on January 26. The movie is directed by Mitsuo Fukuda, with a script co-written by Mitsuo Fukuda, Chiaki Morosawa, and Riu Gotou. The cast includes Kentarou Tone, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Hiro Shimono, Yukari Tamura, Sumire Uesaka, Misato Fukuen, and Yuuichi Nakamura.
The original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED TV series aired from Fall 2002 to 2003, followed by the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny sequel series from Fall 2004 to 2005, and the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Final Plus: The Chosen Future OVA in December 2005.
